Rare Restored Muscle
This ultra-rare 1941 DeSoto S8 3-Window Business Coupe is a perfect storm of classic style and modern muscle. Under the hood, a 1970 383 Magnum (Super Bee) engine has been completely rebuilt just 3,000 miles ago, packing serious punch with Pro Maxx aluminum heads, a Lunati Voodoo cam and lifters (1500–5500 rpm), and a Holley Avenger carburetor with only 500 miles on it. Cooling comes courtesy of a sleek aluminum Mopar radiator with electric fan and shroud.
Power hits the pavement through a rebuilt 727 transmission with B&M shift kit, extra clutches, a 2000 RPM stall converter, and a new Gear Vendors overdrive (300 miles). The rear is an 8 3/4" Mopar E-body setup with 3" drum brakes, rebuilt 742 housing, and a 3.55 Sure Grip — smooth, controlled, and reliable.
Driving this beast is effortless thanks to power steering, rack and pinion, and power front disc brakes. All-new 12-volt wiring, an Intellitronix digital gauge panel, electric wipers, Cadillac tilt & telescoping column with original DeSoto wheel, and Lincoln Navigator beige leather 6-way power seats bring modern comfort to a timeless classic.
The body is all original and rust-free (rocker panels replaced), with most of the original paint preserved to showcase a beautiful patina. New glass, gaskets, rear air shocks, and a rebuilt front suspension (2017, 3,000 miles) make it road-ready. With a 7-foot deep trunk, this coupe is as practical as it is stunning.
Once one-family owned until 2017, this DeSoto underwent a 6-year restoration by the current owner, balancing authenticity with modern performance upgrades. This is more than a car—it's a rare piece of history that commands attention and respect wherever it rolls.
